Worth the Effort!

Mark Thurston is a pretty insightful psychologist, so his book is definitely worth reading. He does a good job of stressing free will and the creative abilities of the soul (even if he isn't so clear about definitions and boundaries.). Other useful themes include balance, diet for body and mind, responsibility towards others, living a purposeful life, and the importance of connecting with the soul (although he places too much emphasis on meditation and not enough on dreams.) Thurston does speak out against cults, but he is sadly willing to accept cult ideology like oneness with God (which feeds the ego while simultaneously enslaving it.) Still his emphasis is on being the change you seek, so he values the inner character above the outer life circumstances. Supposedly the inner drives the outer. His book includes practical steps so that growth can be tracked. Growing the inner person might be more work than anticipated, but it is worth the effort.

Informative Book

Years ago (about 18 to be exact) when I started on my spiritual journey, the first book I read was Edgar Cayce and I honestly don't know why. I happened upon it, I believe and it started me on a quest that has lasted all this time. I have read countless books on spirituality and my psychic abilities and how to live a spiritual life. However, Edgar Cayce and his teachings have been clear, to the point, insightful and more importantly, I feel I am getting the truth. I am not misguided in any way. This is another book that makes me feel as though I am gaining something more to take with me, And after 18 years and having read so many books, that is not always easy. I often find myself going "yes, yes, I know that, everyone knows that..." This book can absolutely be instrumental for anyone embarking on their journey, and if this is you, I say "Have fun!!"

Edgar Cayce Handbook Can Help Improve Your Life

I have been familiar with Edgar Cayce's books since 1980, but had not read this one till now. The different approaches and very positive ways to make your life have more meaning and to expand your horizons in all areas made me love this book. It also provides "thinking out of the box" suggestions that I have not read in other books. I recommend this book to those of ages 26 + who want to either get out of a daily rut in life, who need encouragement during a difficult time, or those who need guidance in starting their life over again in healthy, positive directions.
